Overview

At Faegre Drinker, we counsel employers in managing union and nonunion workforces. Our experienced management-side lawyers and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) alumni design strategies for unionized and nonunionized employers. We help nonunion employers to contain potential labor disruption, defeat union organizing drives and cultivate positive work environments in which employees feel less compelled to consider union organizing. We assist unionized employers in collective bargaining and contract administration ─ maximizing their ability to operate their business even if a collective bargaining agreement is in place. In addition, we counsel on policy development; protected concerted activity, solicitation and distribution; hand billing, picketing and strike activity; persuader reporting obligations; and management training. Finally, we advise on risk management and compliance matters when companies buy, sell or consolidate unionized facilities and businesses, and we frequently appear before local and federal courts and the NLRB, in labor-relations lawsuits, charges, arbitration hearings and other administrative proceedings nationwide.
