Corporate INTL Recognises Faegre Baker Daniels as Law Firm of the Year for Restructuring and Labour Law

The London office of Faegre Baker Daniels LLP has been recognised as England's Law Firm of the Year for Restructuring Law and Labour Law by Corporate INTL's 2013 Legal Awards.

Faegre Baker Daniels was selected in the Restructuring Law category for its expertise in working with companies who choose to restructure for commercial reasons. The firm's corporate lawyers advise solvent clients seeking to enhance the bottom line, increase shareholder value, or operate in a more financially efficient and effective manner. FaegreBD was also identified as a source of insight for a research project on cross-border mergers within the European Union (EU) being undertaken by Stamford Law School on behalf of the European Commission. The project is expected to release its report in September 2013.

Recognition in the Labour Law category reflects the continued success of the firm's employment practice in representing predominantly international clients on large-scale reduction and restructuring projects, as well as advising homegrown clients on restrictive covenant and team move issues. For example, the team successfully represented Raymond James in a landmark restrictive covenant case in the High Court in 2012. Capitalising on its success, the team also conducted a survey on the use of restrictive covenants in the financial services sector, "How to Lose Friends, Keep Clients and Influence People." Faegre Baker Daniels' employment practice in London has grown steadily over the past few years, adding new clients and strength and depth to the team, as well as increasing its volume of work. Many of the employment team's new clients have an international presence, adding to the firm's strong UK client base.

"Our expertise in restructuring law makes our firm an adviser of choice for companies seeking to increase profitability," said Paul Finlan, leader of the London office. "Furthermore, we are now seen as a UK market leader in the field of employment law, having already won UK Employment Team of the Year at The Lawyer Awards in 2012. We're very pleased to receive these recognitions from Corporate INTL that highlight the excellent work our lawyers are doing on behalf of clients."
