Nick Guzman Honored by Crain’s Chicago Business as a 2021 Notable Nonprofit Board Leader
Customs and international trade partner Nick Guzman was named to Crain’s Chicago Business’s 2021 Notable Nonprofit Board Leaders list, which profiles 70 top Chicago-area board members and their successes and accomplishments.
This year’s Notable Nonprofit Board Leaders had over five years of board experience, advanced the cause of nonprofit organizations and raised their profiles in the community, contributed regularly and assisted in fundraising in meaningful ways, helped these organizations operate more efficiently and mentored other board members.
Guzman counsels clients in all aspects of international trade laws and regulations. He has extensive experience in import, trade compliance and international customs issues, including maquiladora manufacturing operations in Mexico. Guzman also assists clients with import tariff classification, valuation, country of origin determination and marking issues, and eligibility determinations under free trade agreements and duty preference programs.
Guzman is extremely active in the Chicago Latino community and currently serves as president of the Board of Directors at Erie Neighborhood House, a community organization serving immigrant families. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Chicago’s National Museum of Mexican Art and is a Trustee of the Latino Leadership Council.
