Daily Journal Names Cheryl Orr One of California’s Top Women Lawyers
International labor and employment practice group and San Francisco office leader Cheryl Orr has been recognized by the Daily Journal as one of the “Top Women Lawyers in California” for 2022. The annual list honors women attorneys who demonstrate excellent legal and leadership skills in the state. This is the sixth time that Cheryl has been included on this list of leading attorneys.
In a feature profile, the Daily Journal highlighted Cheryl’s work for nearly two decades across a variety of industries, defending complex wage and hour class, collective and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) actions.
Cheryl noted that her work sometimes involves working with clients to make long-term, companywide changes for the better. “We not only want to see excellent results, but we want to drive a result that our client feels good about,” Cheryl said. “We want them to reach their goals and leave them in a better place than when we were first engaged.”
The publication also emphasized Cheryl’s reputation for resolving matters early and expeditiously and recognized her role as leader of Faegre Drinker’s international labor and employment practice group, where she oversees a group of over 100 attorneys and legal staff.
Cheryl expressed her passion for negotiating the best outcomes for her clients. In the past year, she has conducted six investigations involving allegations of sexual and racial harassment, whistle-blowing and discrimination in academia and business with bet-the-company potential consequences. “I enjoy the business of law, but part of the business is the people, and if you manage your people right, your business falls into place,” she said.
