Technology Attorney Lionel Weaver Returns to Faegre Drinker in Chicago

Faegre Drinker announced today that Lionel Weaver has joined the firm as counsel in the government and regulatory practice in Chicago. Weaver rejoins the firm after his tenure in-house as information governance counsel for a large insurance company and, most recently, counseling business clients at his own firm. Weaver was formerly with Drinker Biddle & Reath from 2004 to 2013.

Weaver navigates clients through the complexities of deploying artificial intelligence (AI) models and algorithms in support of their business goals and is part of the firm’s interdisciplinary AI, algorithmic decision-making and big data (AI-X) team. He also has significant experience handling information governance, data privacy, cybersecurity and other technology matters. With experience in-house and as an entrepreneur, he helps businesses and technology teams examine challenges and opportunities from every angle.

Weaver earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa with honors and his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law with high distinction.
