To Capitalize on New Era, We Must Address Deficiencies
Indianapolis Business Journal
Corporate partner Tim Moriarty and government and regulatory associate Brad Boswell coauthored an article for the Indianapolis Business Journal that discusses opportunities for Indiana to capitalize on federal funding and address education and workforce development deficiencies.
Moriarty and Boswell explain that Indiana is on a federal funding winning streak with $33 million awarded to the state by the U.S. Department of Defense in September 2023. The authors add that in October, Indiana was also selected as one of 30 states competing for an additional $70 million in federal funding. Both awards trace back to the CHIPS Act, which the authors note could lead to 90,000 new manufacturing jobs alone.
The authors also provide examples of ways entities across central Indiana are making critical education investments, and they hope more will follow in their lead.
