Emilee P. Schipske

Associate

Overview

Emilee Schipske conducts legal research regarding matters in product liability. While in law school, she received the Henry R. Berger Award for excellence in tort law.

Prior Experience

During law school, Emilee held multiple internships, including for the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General and the Department of Justice: Appellate Section, Criminal Division. In both roles, Emilee assisted with research and writing briefs and memoranda. She also worked for the Human Trafficking Institution where she aided in the development and publication of the 2020 Federal Human Trafficking Report. During her time with the organization, Emilee analyzed the United States’ federal response to human trafficking and helped to simplify comprehensive data obtained from federal criminal human trafficking cases. She consulted court documents, press releases, and news sources to gather a comprehensive dataset that includes: type of trafficking case, profile of the trafficker, details about the trafficking scheme, age and gender of the victims, and district where the case took place, among others.

Emilee also worked at George Washington’s Vaccine Injury Litigation Clinic during her last year of law school. She represented families of young children and adults seeking compensation for vaccine-related injuries and deaths and was involved in proceedings before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the Office of Special Masters. At the clinic, she interviewed prospective clients, drafted legal petitions for compensation, obtained and filed pertinent medical records with the court, obtained statements from witnesses and medical experts, and prepared settlement and damages demands. She also participated in trials by helping conduct direct and cross-examinations of fact and expert witnesses and preparing opening and closing statements.

Personal Interests

Emilee enjoys hiking in Virginia and near her hometown in New Jersey. She also collects rare houseplants.
