William S. Meyers

Overview

Bill partners with clients to build intellectual property portfolios that advance their business objectives. He provides counsel and legal services in all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent portfolio management; risk evaluation related to third party patents; opinions; patent preparation and prosecution; and patent post-grant administrative proceedings.
Bill advises clients in the mechanical, chemical, electrical, optical and software related arts. Bill co-leads the Indiana section of Faegre Drinker's national food and agribusiness industry team.

Engineering Experience

Before entering the patent profession, Bill gained engineering experience with a mechanical engineering design firm which he co-founded and co-owned for almost five years. During his undergraduate and graduate years at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Bill was part of a NASA Lewis Research Center team that helped design and develop the optical system for an experimental package that flew aboard space shuttle Columbia as part of a United States Microgravity Laboratory mission. He also conducted research in the field of medical imaging as a graduate student in the Medical Biophysics program at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.
