Overview

Office Leader

As Indiana's capital and largest city, Indianapolis is the heart of the state's business activity and economy. Faegre Drinker has been advising Indiana businesses for over 160 years. Our roots date back to the 1860’s and our prominent founders — Thomas Hendricks, Indiana Governor and U.S. Vice President; Oscar Hord, Indiana Attorney General; and Conrad Baker, Civil War General and Indiana Governor — who created the pre-eminent law firm in Indianapolis. Over the last century and a half, the firm has grown alongside the Central Indiana community, from Hendricks & Hord in 1863 to Baker & Daniels in the mid-20th century, and then continuing to grow to become Faegre Drinker today.

While our name has changed over the years, our commitment to excellence and our role as a trusted, reliable legal resource for businesses in the central Indiana community and beyond remains unchanged. Faegre Drinker’s attorneys and consulting professionals provide market-leading business solutions to Indiana clients across the full range of litigation, transactional and regulatory services including corporate, M&A, securities and tax, construction and real estate, intellectual property, labor and employment, and business litigation, with a product liability team that protects leading manufacturers in Indiana, across the United States and around the world.

Living and Working in Indianapolis

Indianapolis blends the heart of a small Midwest town with the excitement of a big metropolis. The nation's 14th-largest city is home to four professional teams and the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, hosts a variety of NCAA tournaments and activities, and is the site of national and international athletic events including Olympic trials, IndyCar series' Indianapolis 500 and the NFL Combine. Outside the athletic arena, Indianapolis provides the best in thriving arts and entertainment, renowned museums, fine dining, upscale shopping, and a bustling schedule of cultural activities and festivals. The city's neighborhoods run the gamut from downtown lofts to tree-lined communities with metropolitan housing options extended to spacious lakefront homes, peaceful rural towns and quaint subdivisions.
