Overview
Jessica Van Dalen prepares and prosecutes patent applications, leveraging her technical background to help clients protect their intellectual property assets. Jessica has extensive experience particular expertise in the vehicle industry, particularly in protecting all aspects of on-road and off-road vehicle components, technologies and designs. Jessica practices before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as well as government entities in Japan, Europe, Canada, Mexico, China and Australia. She collaborates with clients on licensing agreements, portfolio analysis, and opinion work related to infringement and patent invalidity. A former co-op engineer and researcher, Jessica has particular proficiency in mechanical, material and chemical arts technology.
Prior Experience
During law school, Jessica worked as a summer associate at Faegre Baker Daniels and summer clerk at an Indianapolis firm.
Before law school, Jessica served as a co-op engineer with Raybestos Products Co., gaining experience in heavy-duty friction materials used for automotive and agricultural vehicle applications. She also worked as an engineering research assistant at Purdue University, focusing on adhesive formulation and testing.
