Overview

Aaron Vance counsels and defends employers in labor and employment disputes and is a subject matter authority on labor law compliance and relations. Clients look to Aaron for his experience and pragmatic focus defending employers before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), in arbitrations, and in state and federal courts.

Labor and Employment Disputes

Aaron is in his element when defending labor and employment disputes — be it claims of discrimination, whistleblower/retaliation matters, workplace safety violations or unfair labor practices — and he is experienced defending employers against such claims before state and federal courts, the NLRB, OSHA, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Indiana Civil Rights Commission, and in labor arbitrations. Aaron crafts compelling arguments that secure dismissals and favorable decisions and awards in high-stakes labor and employment matters, with the end focus always being on achieving the best outcome for the client.

Labor Law Compliance

Aaron provides strategic counsel to employers on navigating federal and state labor laws. Adept at preparing comprehensive employee handbooks and policies designed to meet relevant laws and regulations, Aaron also provides insight on equal opportunity employment practices, OSHA compliance, and wage-and-hour laws.

Unions and Collective Bargaining

Aaron helps develop and implement strategies for union avoidance, providing management training and counseling on compliance so that employers can address and avoid unionization efforts. He also has significant experience guiding clients through collective bargaining processes and keeps employer interests and goals front and center in negotiations.

Workplace Safety

Aarons advises employers on issues related to workplace safety and OSHA compliance. From proactively supporting clients in the development of effective and comprehensive safety programs and policies, to representing them in workplace safety inspections and abatement measures, and defending and appealing safety citations before federal and state OSHA agencies, Aaron’s workplace safety counsel covers it all. Aaron’s experience counseling clients on workplace safety matters spans beyond general industry compliance to also include specific industries like construction, manufacturing and food production.
