Pope, Berry-Tayman, Miller Join Baker & Daniels

James R. Pope, Lisa J. Berry-Tayman and Patrick M. Miller have joined Baker & Daniels LLP. Each practices in the law firm's Downtown Indianapolis office.

Pope is of counsel at Baker & Daniels after spending more than 33 years as in-house counsel for Duke Energy, a Fortune 500 company, and its predecessor companies, Cinergy and PSI Energy, Inc. At Baker & Daniels, he practices in business litigation, focusing primarily on utility law. He also counsels clients on regulatory issues, including matters before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.

Pope graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington in 1973 after earning his bachelor's degree at Wabash College in 1970.

Berry-Tayman is an associate in business litigation, focusing her practice on assisting clients with electronic discovery and record management challenges. Before joining Baker & Daniels, she practiced in tort litigation with Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP in Kansas City, Mo., and served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Missouri Attorney General's Office in Jefferson City.

Berry-Tayman earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Ball State University, graduating from the honors program in 1991. She graduated with distinction from Mississippi College School of Law in 1995.

Miller is an associate in Baker & Daniels' construction, environmental law and real property litigation practice. He represents clients in virtually all phases of the construction process. Previously, Miller practiced in construction law with Drewry, Simmons, Vornehm LLP in Indianapolis and Fraterrigo, Beranek, Feiereisel & Kasbohm in Chicago.

Miller graduated from Marquette University Law School in 2002 after earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1999. During law school, he served as a judicial intern for Justice Ann Walsh Bradley in the Supreme Court of Wisconsin.
