Drinker Biddle Breaks into AmLaw Global 100
For the first time in our firm’s nearly 160-year history we have broken into the ranks of the AmLaw Global 100, landing at 98 on the 2008 list of the world’s highest-grossing law firms.
“This is an auspicious moment for all of us at Drinker Biddle,” said our Chairman Alfred W. Putnam, Jr. “The ranking is a reflection of all of our hard work and dedication, and as we continue to strive for excellence, we may look forward to marking many more accomplishments such as this.”
The list, published in the October issue of American Lawyer, actually includes three rankings – highest grossing, most lawyers and most profits per partner, totaling 112 law firms – and was compiled with cooperation from Legal Week in London, using numbers from the 2007 fiscal year. AmLaw also highlighted Drinker Biddle’s expanding international practice, noting that the firm is handling an increasing amount of offshore investment advising and intellectual property work for U.S. subsidiaries in foreign countries, despite not having an international office.
