Faegre Baker Daniels Secures Win for Thomson Reuters

Faegre Baker Daniels announced that on June 19, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed summary judgment of non-infringement on behalf of the firm's client, Thomson Reuters, in a major patent infringement case brought by an Australian electronic publishing company focused on legal publications. The case involved 109 claims from two patents for an electronic publishing system where the accused product was Thomson Reuters' well-known Westlaw legal research system.

"We are extremely pleased with the Federal Circuit's ruling," said Calvin Litsey, one of the partners who led the legal team. "We were confident that the district court's finding of non-infringement would be affirmed, and are pleased that the Federal Circuit panel agreed."

The Faegre Baker Daniels team included partners Calvin Litsey, David Gross, Mindy Sooter, Kevin Wagner and Gary Weinstein, along with associates Kate Razavi, Lauren Frank, Tim Sullivan and Lauren Steinhaeuser.
