Bob Stoll Article Published in The Hill’s Congress Blog

Washington, D.C., partner Bob Stoll contributed a recent “Patent Perspective” to The Hill’s Congress Blog.

Bob, a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group and former USPTO Commissioner for Patents, discussed the verdict delivered in Apple’s patent case against Samsung. While many observers have commented the decision will lead to higher prices and reverse the trend of innovation, Bob counters that “the verdict is a sign that the system is far from being broken and is actually working as intended to help ensure innovation and competition for the benefit of consumers.”

Bob explains his reasoning and concludes that the decision was “a rational step in a well-planned process meant to secure an advantage for those large and small who have great ideas and achieve them. It could help lead to economic growth. And it even just might be the spark that creates the next revolutionary product.”
