FaegreBD Represents Lake Region Medical in Sale to Accellent

A team led by Faegre Baker Daniels partner and M&A practice leader Bruce Engler represented Chaska, Minn.-based medical device manufacturer Lake Region Medical in its sale to Accellent Inc., which is a portfolio company of KKR and Bain Capital. Accellent and Lake Region Medical announced the deal publicly on Feb. 3, and it closed March 12.
Lake Region Medical's employees and facilities in Chaska, New Ross, Galway, Ireland, and Shanghai, China will remain in the combined business, which will operate under the Lake Region Medical brand name.
Lake Region Medical is a second-generation family business that began as a fishing lure business in 1947. The company evolved into an original development manufacturer of minimally invasive devices and delivery systems to the cardiology and endovascular markets, supplying some of the world's largest medical device companies. Lake Region Medical has a worldwide reputation as a leader in guidewire technology and related products.
The FaegreBD deal team consisted of associates Kate Sherburne, Brandon Mason, Brian Jacobson and Matt Levy, and partners Andy Ritten, Rick Duncan, Dave Vander Haar, Pete Withoff, Dan Prokott, Paul Moe, Gary Weinstein, Bill Weimer, Dan Boeglin and Page Fleeger.
