Drinker Biddle & Reath Elects Nine New Partners
Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP has elected nine new partners of the firm, effective February 1, 2015.
The group of six women and three men is a representative cross section of the firm’s broad range of transactional, litigation and regulatory practices. The nine new partners hail from across the firm’s 12 offices.
“Our new partners have established exceptional legal skills and an utmost commitment to client service,” said Drinker Biddle Chairman and CEO Andrew C. Kassner. “We are delighted to welcome them to partnership and know that they will continue to practice law at the highest level.”
Brief biographies of the new partners follow:
Daniel H. Aiken Daniel H. Aiken is a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group practicing in the Philadelphia office. He represents employers in a broad array of employment-related matters, specializing in litigating claims involving the enforcement of non-compete agreements, wage and hour disputes, and discrimination in employment decisions.
Andrea T. Best is a member of the Corporate & Securities Practice Group and heads the firm’s London office. Her practice focuses on insurance regulatory compliance and she works extensively with London, Bermuda and European insurance market participants regarding non-admitted insurance and reinsurance transactions in the United States.
Carrie A. Beyer is a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group based in Chicago. Carrie has litigated a broad range of intellectual property cases in federal trial and appellate courts throughout the country, including complex patent infringement matters. She also counsels clients on a variety of intellectual property issues, including licensing and enforcement.
Summer Conley is a member of the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Practice Group and is based in Los Angeles. Her practice covers a variety of employee benefit areas, including qualified plan work, executive compensation, and health and welfare issues such as HIPAA, COBRA, Section 125 and Healthcare Reform.
Matthew H. Meyers is a member of the Corporate & Securities Practice Group in Philadelphia. He represents both public and private companies in a variety of corporate and securities matters, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, joint ventures, corporate governance, capital-raising transactions in the public and private markets, public company reporting obligations and general corporate matters.
Linda S. Moroney is a member of the Health Care Practice Group in the firm’s Milwaukee office. She provides tax and corporate advice to non-profit and health care institutions and other tax-exempt organizations. Linda is returning to the partnership after serving as general counsel for a regional health care system.
Meredith C. Slawe is a member of the Commercial Litigation Practice Group based in Philadelphia. She has a broad litigation practice with an emphasis on business disputes and consumer class actions. Meredith is also a part of the firm's Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) litigation and compliance team.
Matthew P. Smith is a member of the Products Liability Practice Group in San Francisco. He concentrates his practice on complex products liability cases, primarily involving pharmaceutical products and medical devices.
Fatema Zanzi is a member of the Health Care Practice Group based in Chicago. She represents health care providers and suppliers in all aspects of corporate transactional and regulatory matters, and provides business and legal advice to health care organizations undertaking strategic transactions, implementing health reform initiatives, and addressing Medical Staff quality and peer review matters.
