In Memoriam: Gerard Haubrich, Long Time Firm Chief Information Officer

It is with great sadness that we convey news of the passing of our dear friend and former Chief Information Officer, Gerard Haubrich, on Tuesday morning, Feb 17. He was 57. On behalf of the firm, we extend our condolences to his wife, Lee, his family, and his countless friends.
We feel very fortunate that Gerard chose to spend 25 years with our firm, having joined in 1990 as a Director of Information Services. In those days, his first challenge was to convince us that typewriters were on their way out and that “e-mail and e-faxes” were the future. As with all of his technological recommendations, Gerard was right.
Many of you may have first encountered Gerard during the 2006 merger with Gardner Carton & Douglas where he led the integration of our technology platforms. Others of us worked with Gerard after the 9/11 tragedy, when he led the firm in memorializing our disaster recovery policies and procedures. All of us benefited from Gerard’s numerous achievements over the years and the firm remains grateful for his many contributions.
Above all else, Gerard’s legacy will not be about his work here but about how he worked here – a consummate professional, a gentleman scholar, a dedicated mentor, an amateur comedian, and a resilient example of positivity in the face of adversity.
Visitation arrangements are planned for Monday, February 23, 10-11am at Grace Episcopal Church, 19 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, NJ 08033. A memorial service will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
