FaegreBD's London Office Welcomes Intellectual Property Partner and Real Estate Associate

Faegre Baker Daniels continues the growth of its London office with the addition of a senior hire, Dr. Huw Beverley-Smith. Beverley-Smith joins as an intellectual property partner from Fieldfisher. The announcement follows the recent appointment of  Petar Orlic,real estate partner, and Josip Stajfer, corporate associate, from McGuireWoods in March.

Beverley-Smith has a broad practice in intellectual property and information technology, advising both domestic and international clients in the private and public sectors. He has a wealth of experience representing both purchasers and suppliers in matters ranging from technology licensing to major systems procurements and outsourcing. Recent notable projects include advising a major Anglo-American corporation on a £700m framework agreement for telecoms services in more than 50 countries and the UK Cabinet Office on a £1 billion joint venture. Beverley-Smith has published a number of books and articles on international intellectual property and privacy rights and his extensive transactional experience provides FaegreBD with depth and commercial acumen in this ever changing area of law.

The firm also welcomes real estate Associate Tom Piper, who follows Petar Orlic from McGuireWoods in March. Piper has far-reaching experience in the sale and acquisition of both commercial and residential property. He has advised a number of offshore banks on both real estate and regulatory work particularly on the Mortgage Conduct of Business rules. Piper has also advised leading national developers on both residential and mixed use developments.
