FaegreBD Advises Hormel in $775M Acquisition of Applegate Farms
Faegre Baker Daniels is representing Hormel Foods Corporation in the approximately $775 million acquisition of Applegate Farms, LLC. Hormel entered a definitive agreement with Applegate on May 26, and the transaction is expected to close within 60 days.
This is the largest purchase Hormel has taken on, out-valuing the $700 million acquisition of Skippy® in 2013 and 2014’s $450 million acquisition of CytoSport Holdings, the maker of Muscle Milk®. Applegate Farms owns the Applegate brand, a leader in the natural and organic value-added prepared meals category.
