Legal 500 U.S. 2015 Recommends Three Faegre Baker Daniels Practices

Three Faegre Baker Daniels legal practices have been recommended in the 2015 edition of Legal 500 United States. Recommended practices include capital markets: debt offerings, M&A: middle-market and real estate.

The Legal 500 ranks law firms annually with a goal of helping corporate counsel select outside counsel. A team of experienced researchers conducts in-depth market research for several months, gathering information from the firms themselves, peers and clients.

The Legal 500 recommended Faegre Baker Daniels for its work on capital markets: debt offerings, and highlighted the firm as having a strong presence in the Midwest market. FaegreBD’s work counseling Wells Fargo, Target and Simon Property Group was emphasized, with practice leader Sonia Shewchuk, Dawn Holicky Pruitt and David Worrell receiving mentions for their contributions.

FaegreBD’s mergers and acquisitions practice was highlighted for middle-market M&A work ($500M-$999M), with emphasis on several complex international transactions led by Roger Rhoten. The firm’s representation of Lake Region Medical on its $420 million sale to Accellent, along with representing The Spectranetics Corporation on it $305 million acquisition of AngioScore pointed to the firm’s expertise in the medical device industry. General Mills’ $820 million acquisition of Annie’s Organic, and Hormel Foods Corporation’s acquisition of CytoSport Holdings were also noted. M&A practice leader Bruce Engler and Chris Hofstad, head of FaegreBD’s corporate group, were described as “strong, talented advisers.”

The real estate team at FaegreBD was noted for advising “on a broad range of work, including development, acquisition, leasing, sales, investment and distressed real estate.” The firm’s work in the hospitality and retail sectors was specifically called out. Diane Davies, Joseph Scimia, Mary Lisher and Scott Anderegg were recommended.
