FaegreBD Enhances California Presence, Anchors New Los Angeles Office with Experienced Litigation Team
Faegre Baker Daniels has expanded its California litigation team with the additions of Tarifa Laddon and Bonita Moore, both resident in the firm’s new Los Angeles office.
Laddon and Moore join nationally recognized litigators George Stohner, David Gross and Cal Litsey, along with 14 additional California-licensed FaegreBD attorneys in LA and Silicon Valley, further anchoring the firm’s presence on the West Coast and drawing on the strength of 750+ attorneys and consultants across our U.S. and global offices to serve clients. Areas of focus in LA include business, employment, intellectual property and product liability litigation, and employment consulting. The office also enhances FaegreBD’s food and agriculture and health and life sciences industry teams on the West Coast.
Andrew Humphrey, FaegreBD’s managing partner, said, “We’re thrilled that Tarifa and Bonita have joined Faegre Baker Daniels. We are confident their addition, and our expansion in California, will provide further value to our clients by enhancing our on-the-ground presence in an important market.”
Laddon has a wide range of experience helping corporate clients resolve complex disputes. A partner in the product liability group and life sciences industry team, she focuses her practice on representing manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and various other products in product liability claims. She also represents clients in complex commercial litigation, toxic torts, real estate disputes, business torts, labor and employment, and wage and hour and consumer class actions.
Prior to joining Faegre Baker Daniels, Laddon was a partner in Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP’s LA office. She earned her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was an articles editor of the Michigan Journal of Gender & Law. She received her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from UCLA.
Moore, a member of the firm’s labor and employment group, is a diverse litigator with experience representing clients in a wide range of civil litigation and arbitration, including complex business disputes, copyright, trademark and professional liability matters. She has successfully defended appeals, preserving victories won in the trial courts. With substantial class action experience, Moore carries the distinction of being one of few lawyers to have successfully taken a wage and hour class action through trial to judgment. In the employment arena, she has also litigated on behalf of and counseled corporate, health care and celebrity clients in matters involving claims of breach of contract, wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment.
Before joining FaegreBD, Moore was a principal with Bird Marella in Los Angeles. Prior to law school, she enjoyed a successful career in public policy at the Congressional Budget Office in Washington, D.C. and the RAND Corporation, a think tank, in Santa Monica, California. She received her law degree from UCLA School of Law where she was an articles editor of the UCLA Women's Law Journal and associate editor of the Chicano-Latino Law Review; she also earned a second place finish in the National Moot Court Competition. She received a master’s degree in public policy analysis and a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude, Phil Beta Kappa in political science from the University of Rochester.
Litsey, FaegreBD’s Silicon Valley and LA office leader, said, “Both Tarifa and Bonita are highly experienced litigation and trial attorneys who have defended clients in challenging and complex matters. Their additions bring further depth and expertise to our litigation team as we continue to serve both our West Coast and national clients.”
