American Lawyer Names Faegre Baker Daniels Among Top Firms for Pro Bono Work

Faegre Baker Daniels has earned a spot in the Top 100 Firms for U.S. Pro Bono, and in the Top 20 Firms for International Pro Bono, by The American Lawyer.

The American Lawyer ranks firms for their commitment to pro bono service each year. It considers average number of pro bono hours the firm’s lawyers perform and the percentage of lawyers contributing more than 20 pro bono hours annually.   Qualifying pro bono service must be legal services provided to persons of limited means, or to nonprofit organizations in matters which meet the needs of low-income persons.

Faegre Baker Daniels was also mentioned for its collaboration with the Pro Bono Institute, the Minnesota Department of Corrections, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District Court of Minnesota and other firms, nonprofits and corporations to address the unique needs formerly incarcerated men and women upon their release from prison. The goal of the project is to facilitate and support successful reentry into the community, and thus reduce the rate of return to prison.

FaegreBD has a long-standing commitment to pro bono service in key areas including affordable housing, asylum, immigration and international human rights, children and families, veterans, and more. The firm is committed to provide annual pro bono legal services equivalent to at least 3 percent of its billable hours, and to direct a substantial majority of its pro bono hours to clients of limited means.
