Michael Giudicessi Selected As Inductee Into State Open Government Hall of Fame
Faegre Baker Daniels partner Michael Giudicessi has been selected as the 2017 inductee into the “Heroes of the 50 States: State Open Government Hall of Fame.”
Each year, the National Freedom of Information Coalition (NFOIC), in collaboration with the Society of Professional Journalists, solicits nominations for First Amendment “heroes” whose deeds, actions and achievements merit designation and induction. The intent is to recognize individuals whose lifetime commitment to citizen access, open government and freedom of information, has left a significant legacy at the state and local levels.
Giudicessi was nominated for the honor by the Iowa Freedom of Information Council.
In his practice at FaegreBD, Giudicessi counsels businesses and represents them in court on employment and commercial issues. He is a member of the firm’s labor and employment group and serves as senior partner of the five-lawyer Des Moines employment litigation team.
Additionally, for 35 years, Giudicessi has handled a wide range of content issues for communications and media clients. His experience extends to pre-publication review and counseling, libel and privacy defense, and access litigation.
Giudicessi’s induction will occur at NFOIC’s 2017 Freedom of Information Summit. The summit takes place Oct. 13-14, 2017 in Nashville Tenn., at the First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University.
