Corporate and Securities Partner Alex Yim Joins Drinker Biddle in New York

Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP today announced that Jinho Alex Yim has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in the Corporate and Securities Group. Yim comes to the firm from Nixon Peabody LLP.

With experience in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, transportation, health care, sports and manufacturing, Yim focuses his practice on large cap and middle market financial transactions. An advisor to leading U.S. and global financial institutions, he works with corporate borrowers, private equity sponsors and mutual fund companies on complex financing and corporate transactions, some of which include public-private partnerships, leveraged acquisitions, asset-based financings and securities lending.

“Adding a lawyer of Alex’s caliber advances the continued strategic growth of our Corporate and Securities Group,” said Andrew C. Kassner, chairman and CEO of Drinker Biddle. “In particular, Alex brings considerable finance experience which, coupled with his international business relationships, makes him an excellent addition to the firm.”

Prior to Nixon Peabody LLP, Yim was counsel at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. He previously served as a foreign legal consultant at Lee & Ko in South Korea and had a summer clerkship with the U.S. Department of Labor.

“Alex’s arrival presents an exciting opportunity for us to expand our corporate finance, capital markets capabilities and securities practice in the U.S. and in critical growing markets across the world,” said James M. Fischer, chair of the firm’s Corporate and Securities Group. “The depth and breadth of his experience with sophisticated financial matters is reflected in his track record of success. We are impressed by the results Alex has achieved for clients and look forward to working with him.”

Yim earned his J.D. degree from Syracuse University College of Law, where he was the executive editor of the Syracuse Law & Technology Journal. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from The Johns Hopkins University.
