Libby Baney Named 'Super Lawyer' by Washington D.C. Super Lawyers

Libby Baney, partner at Faegre Baker Daniels in Washington, D.C. has been selected as a 2019 Washington DC Super Lawyers “Super Lawyer” in the Government Relations practice area.

Super Lawyers is an annual service that rates outstanding lawyers in more than 70 practice areas based on peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process includes statewide nominations, peer evaluations and independent research.

Clients hire Baney for her ability to identify the issues, evaluate their business, legal and policy options, construct a plan, and implement that plan in what are often complex domestic and international environments. She’s known for getting things done on and off the Hill.

Libby co-chairs the firm’s digital health team and is actively involved in issues related to telehealth, the internet and the opioid epidemic, online consumer safety, and internet governance and enforcement policy.

Through her work at the firm, Baney leads the Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies Global (ASOP Global), a globally active nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. She executes ASOP Global’s strategy and operations, including shaping public policy, advocating for action and promoting further action to combat illegal online drug sellers.

The selection process includes a survey asking lawyers to nominate the best attorneys that they have observed in action. Each nomination carries a point value, and nominations from outside an attorney's firm carry substantially greater value than nominations from within the attorney's firm.
