Law360 Names FaegreBD One of the Best Law Firms for Women
Faegre Baker Daniels has been ranked fourth among U.S. law firms with at least 600 lawyers as a top law firm for women by Law360.
For its 2019 Glass Ceiling Report, Law360 surveyed more than 300 U.S. firms on their overall and female headcount numbers as of Dec. 31, 2018. The firms with the highest number of female attorneys were ranked using a formula that equally weighs the percentage of non-partners and percentage of total partners who are women.
FaegreBD is committed to meeting national diversity and inclusion benchmarking standards, including those aimed at advancing women in the legal profession. In 2018, the firm was named one of the Best Law Firms for Women by Working Mother magazine and was selected to receive Gold Standard Certification by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF).
The firm has adopted innovative programs to retain and advance women and diverse professionals. It received the Certification Plus status for its participation and results in the Mansfield Rule, an outgrowth from Diversity Lab’s 2016 Women in Law Hackathon. The Mansfield Rule is inspired by the NFL’s Rooney Rule and ensures candidate pools for select leadership and governance roles include women lawyers and lawyers of color.
FaegreBD has also implemented Diversity Lab’s “On Track for Partnership”— a team-driven and technology-supported sponsorship initiative designed to accelerate professional growth and career advancement for women lawyers and lawyers of color. Further, the firm’s internal Women's Forum for Achievement engages all lawyers at the firm to help women develop their practices and networks and achieve long-term success.
