Sandra Dawn Grannum and Jack Sperber Admitted to the American College of Trial Lawyers

Faegre Drinker is proud to announce that Sandra Dawn Grannum and Jack Sperber have been admitted as fellows to the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in North America.

Founded in 1950, the College is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only and only after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers of diverse backgrounds, who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of fifteen years trial experience before they can be considered for Fellowship.

Membership in the College cannot exceed one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province. There are currently approximately 5,800 members in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, including active Fellows, Emeritus Fellows, Judicial Fellows (those who ascended to the bench after their induction) and Honorary Fellows. The College maintains and seeks to improve the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice through education and public statements on independence of the judiciary, trial by jury, respect for the rule of law, access to justice, and fair and just representation of all parties to legal proceedings. The College is thus able to speak with a balanced voice on important issues affecting the legal profession and the administration of justice.

Grannum serves on Faegre Drinker’s board and as a former in-house Wall Street counsel, ensures that representation of financial and securities industry clients includes careful evaluation of litigation exposure, reputational risk and budgetary concerns. She has tried more than 60 arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). She has also tried arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and JAMs and has handled appeals before the National Adjudicatory Council (NAC).

Sperber is a member of Faegre Drinker’s executive leadership team and has been representing private owners and condemning entities in eminent domain proceedings for 25 years. He does this work around the country, and has been involved in more than 30 trials, numerous evidentiary hearings, and more than 20 appellate arguments.

Grannum and Sperber join the following Faegre Drinker attorneys as American College of Trial Lawyer fellows: David Abernethy, Ellen Boshkoff, Thomas Campion, Daniel Collins, Deborah Ellingboe, Barry Gross, John Mandler, Michael McCarthy, Kenneth Murphy, Joseph Price, Alfred Putnam, Jr. and Charles Webber.

This membership is conferred by the American College of Trial Lawyers. A description of the selection methodology is available here. No aspect of this advertisement has been approved by the Supreme Court of New Jersey.
