Faegre Drinker, Maria Lewis and Matthew Meyers Recognized for Professional Excellence by The Legal Intelligencer
The Legal Intelligencer has recognized chief diversity officer Maria Lewis and corporate partner Matthew Meyers as part of its 2021 Professional Excellence Awards. Honorees are chosen based on their exemplary work and significant achievements within the Pennsylvania legal community.
Lewis was named a “Law Firm Innovator” – an award that recognizes lawyers, legal professionals and law firms who think outside the box and have demonstrated an ability to distinguish their brands in a crowded market.
As the firm’s chief diversity officer, Lewis provides vision and leadership for promoting and instilling a firm culture that builds, values and supports diversity and inclusion. She also serves the firm’s clients by providing litigation counsel on challenging employment issues in the workplace and conducting corporate training programs to improve workplace culture and reduce legal risks.
Meyers was named a “Most Effective Dealmaker” – an award that recognizes lawyers who earn repeat business for how they achieve their clients’ goals so that both sides sign on the dotted lines.
Meyers is the deputy co-leader of the firm’s corporate group and a trusted adviser to public and private companies engaged in significant mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Experienced in complex transactions and securities matters, he has recently represented clients in a $200 million IPO, the acquisition and sale of businesses valued from less than $20 million to more than $1 billion, and the issuance of over $10 billion in senior debt.
Faegre Drinker was also named a finalist for The Legal Intelligencer’s “Law Firm of the Year” award, which recognizes the Pennsylvania firm that has demonstrated a broad spectrum of achievements in the past year and talent depth. The 2021 “Law Firm of the Year” recipient will be announced at an awards ceremony in Philadelphia on June 24, 2021.
