Faegre Drinker a ‘Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality’ in Human Rights Campaign’s 2021 Corporate Equality Index

Faegre Drinker is proud to have received a perfect score of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality.

Faegre Drinker is one of 767 major U.S.-based businesses to earn top marks and the designation of a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.

“This is a wonderful recognition of our policies and actions to build a more diverse, inclusive organization and to advance equality in the workplace,” said Maria L.H. Lewis, Faegre Drinker’s chief diversity officer. “Faegre Drinker is proud to be honored as a top place to work for LBGTQ and our active support for our colleagues, family and friends is intrinsic and enduring.”

HRC President Alphonso David said, “From the previously unimaginable impact of the COVID-19 pandemic to a long-overdue reckoning with racial injustice, 2020 was an unprecedented year. Yet, many businesses across the nation stepped up and continued to prioritize and champion LGBTQ equality. This year has shown us that tools like the CEI are crucial in the work to increase equity and inclusion in the workplace, but also that companies must breathe life into these policies and practices in real and tangible ways.”

The 2021, CEI evaluated 1,142 organizations based on LGBTQ-related criteria, including non-discrimination policies, inclusive employment benefits, demonstrated support of a culture of inclusion as well as corporate social responsibility.

Faegre Drinker holds itself accountable for progress on building a diverse workforce and relies on national benchmarking surveys like the HRC’s Corporate Equality Index, among others. The firm was also ranked in Law360’s 2020 Glass Ceiling Report, recognized as one of the Best Law Firms for Women in 2020 by Working Mother and was among 48 U.S. law firms to receive Gold Standard Certification by the Women in Law Empowerment Forum in 2020. In addition, Faegre Drinker is proud to be recognized by Diversity Lab as a Mansfield Certified Plus firm — one of the “trailblazing law firms” that demonstrate meaningful progress in creating diverse leadership teams and develop diverse pipelines to leadership.
