Aaron Van Oort Recognized by Minnesota Lawyer as a 2021 ‘Attorneys of the Year’ Honoree
Minnesota Lawyer named business litigation partner Aaron Van Oort a 2021 “Attorneys of the Year” honoree. According to the publication, this year’s selections “encompass the wide variety of practices and issues that make Minnesota’s legal profession vibrant.”
The recognition honors accomplished attorneys throughout Minnesota based on leadership in the profession, achieving a successful result for a client, excellence in corporate or transactional services and public service.
Van Oort is a legal strategist and appellate attorney who co-chairs Faegre Drinker’s appellate advocacy group. A former law clerk for Justice Antonin Scalia and a Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, he is a respected, persuasive voice for clients on legal issues in trial and appellate courts. Chambers USA describes him as having “notable prominence and presence in this field.”
In a feature profile, regarding his work securing Xcel Energy a certiorari denial in a Minnesota energy regulation appeal, Van Oort said, “Xcel was certainly one of the highlights because of the combination of the constitutional issue and the importance of it to Xcel.”
When discussing his practice, Van Oort added, “As our firm has gotten bigger and more national, I’ve been able to focus more on appellate work…across a wider range of courts throughout the country.”
