Faegre Drinker Elevates 6 Consulting Professionals to Principal
Faegre Drinker is pleased to announce that six consulting professionals based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, Tricia Beckmann, Lauren Bloch, Megan Herber, Svetlana Lyapustina, Ph.D, Lee Mia Nagao, Ph.D., and James Vergis, Ph.D. have been promoted to principal, effective February 1, 2023. Our consulting professionals complement our multitude of legal practices, allowing Faegre Drinker to provide our clients services beyond those traditionally associated with a law firm.
“We are thrilled to be promoting these talented professionals and look forward to continuing to deliver their skills to help clients achieve their goals,” said Faegre Drinker Co-Chairs Tom Froehle and Andrew Kassner in a joint statement. “Their extensive backgrounds in a range of disciplines including public policy, science, and regulatory affairs make them invaluable resources to our team and clients.”
Beckman leads and works with clients focused on federal healthcare payment and care delivery programs, including integrated health systems and payers. She has cultivated in-depth knowledge of the industry from her time at a population healthcare management company and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where she helped implement the individual market policies of the Affordable Care Act.
Bloch provides strategy and management consulting for clients on topics such as medical research, public health and therapy development issues, with a particular focus in patient engagement and patient-focused drug development. She has experience working in management consulting supporting multiple federal agencies.
Herber partners with health care clients focused on an array of issues, particularly in the areas of telehealth, behavioral health and pharmacy, and helps them develop and execute federal government affairs and policy strategies. She has also spent several years on Capitol Hill, including as Legislative Director to Rep. Doris Matsui.
Lyapustina applies her rigorous scientific training to help health and life sciences stakeholders address regulatory and technical challenges. She advises individual companies and industry consortia on scientific innovation, patient safety, and product and device regulatory approaches.
Nagao partners with pharmaceutical innovators to identify and overcome regulatory and product-development obstacles as they shepherd their products from the lab to the marketplace. Driven by her own background as a scientist, she is skilled in helping clients maximize efficiency in the product development lifecycle.
Vergis employs his extensive scientific and computing knowledge to facilitate joint technology development and data-sharing research projects with companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries along with academics and vendors serving the scientific community. He supports clients in their endeavors to bring these new technologies to market, engage regulators and standards setting bodies, and communicate scientific research and industry positions.
Faegre Drinker has also recently announced the promotion of 26 attorneys to partner and six attorneys to counsel for 2023.
