Faegre Drinker Adds Experienced Finance and Restructuring Counsel Adam Ballinger in Minneapolis

Faegre Drinker announced today that Adam Ballinger has joined the firm as counsel in the finance & restructuring group in Minneapolis. Ballinger joins from a Minneapolis-based boutique law firm.

Ballinger represents debtors, creditors, trustees and court-appointed receivers in all matters in and outside of bankruptcy proceedings, including in state and federal courts, mediation, and arbitration. He also counsels purchasers, sellers, boards of directors, borrowers and secured creditors in both ordinary-course and distressed-asset transactions. These include structuring, documenting and enforcing secured financing arrangements, as well as resolving defaults and intercreditor issues.

“Adam has a strong track record in complex litigation and corporate transactions and in being a trusted advisor to executive and key stakeholders,” said partner and finance & restructuring group leader Mike Pompeo. “We are thrilled to add such an experienced attorney to the team.”

Additionally, Ballinger represents clients in the agribusiness sector in lien priority disputes, statutory liens, distressed agriculture financing workouts, and more general breach of contract disputes between agricultural product producers and buyers in litigation as well as arbitration before the National Grain and Feed Association. He also negotiates, drafts and reviews agribusiness financing agreements and agricultural liens.

Ballinger serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, where he teaches a general bankruptcy course. He earned his B.S. from North Dakota State University and J.D. from University of Minnesota Law School.

Faegre Drinker’s finance and restructuring practice advises clients across diverse industries on matters from financial transactions to corporate debt restructurings, as well as bankruptcy and litigation matters.
