Discussing Denver With Jared Briant

Local Focus: Denver

What makes Faegre Drinker’s Denver office a destination for Colorado’s top talent? If you ask Partner Jared Briant, it’s our team’s drive to make Denver the best place for our people, our clients and our community — while having some fun along the way.

“Faegre Drinker's been at the center of Rocky Mountain business for the past 40 years,” Jared said, “and we occupy a unique position in the market. And it's really to our combination of local size of more than 50 lawyers, depth of opportunities created over the last 40 years, and our integration into Faegre Drinker's national platform that enables us to thrive in this market.”

Since Jared joined the firm as a summer associate more than 20 years ago, he’s seen our presence grow quite a bit in Denver. Most recently — and, as Jared notes, most exciting — we moved into a brand-new office. Office leadership had the opportunity to design a space that enables us to maximize our opportunities to collaborate together. And as a result, we're thriving in this new space.

Many of our high-performing practices are represented in the Denver office, including intellectual property, real estate litigation, product liability litigation, complex commercial litigation, and labor and employment. Our growing global mobility and immigration practice recently expanded to Denver as well.

One of the Denver office’s priorities is curating opportunities to bring people together, whether it’s through internal events like our Summer Associates Summit or fun annual traditions with clients like the annual Ski-L-E outing and night at the rodeo, we value connecting our firm, our clients and our community.

Serving our community — through pro bono work and community service efforts — is a core component of our office culture. We provide pro bono legal services to clients navigating family and domestic concerns, residents facing housing issues and people seeking asylum in the United States. Recent efforts have focused on the Afghan crisis response team, a 120-person cross-office effort assisting Afghan immigrants as they flee persecution from the Taliban.

Our Denver colleagues also participate in community service projects, including helping underprivileged children at Castro Elementary School and helping those with mental and behavioral health needs at Mount Saint Vincent Home.

Another example of the fun we have along the way is the friendly competition that pops up between Faegre Drinker offices. “As you know, in Denver, we love our sports teams,” Jared said. “And that's provided great opportunities to increase cross office collaboration and camaraderie. Unfortunately, you can't win them all and I ended up on the short end of a friendly wager with our Minneapolis office in connection with the recent [2024] NBA playoff series. What's most important is that it provides meaningful opportunities for our professionals across our offices to collaborate and stay connected.”

The Denver team is proud to foster a creative, collaborative and inclusive environment — and we’re lucky to have great colleagues who make that happen every day!
