GDPR: Mission Complete!

On May 25, 2023, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) celebrated its fifth anniversary. When the GDPR was adopted, its supporters foretold that it would bring a new era of harmonised data protection rules and enforcement throughout the EU. It would end purely administrative compliance requirements like data processing registrations in favor of genuinely holding organisations accountable for their data protection practices.
