Beyond Vertical Integration: Vertical Coordination As A Way To Capture Market Value
Vertical integration in food, agricultural and biofuels has been a topic of much focus and discussion over the past several years. It has often been seen as a way for companies to increase value in a product and improve efficiencies in production. However, due to a number of challenges, more attention should be given to vertical coordination. That may be a path more appropriate to ensure a return on investment, while avoiding many of the challenges with vertical integration.
