Bill Roberts Interviewed Regarding the Firm's Ongoing Work in BP Oil Spill Case

In the blog entry "Faegre Lawyer Takes Lead on BP Spill Case After Partner's Death," Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal reporter Jim Hammerand discusses with Bill Roberts the firm's continued commitment to clients in the BP oil spill case following the recent untimely death of Gerry Nolting, lead counsel for more than 1,500 claimants. Roberts and Craig Coleman paired up with Nolting in 2010 to represent Gulf of Mexico fishermen in cases against BP, including nearly 500 fishermen who said they weren't compensated as promised for assisting with the cleanup. Roberts has now taken the lead position on Gulf oil spill claims against BP. "Gerry was absolutely just a stellar guy and lived and breathed this case," Roberts told the Business Journal. "We'll all miss him deeply and never forget him." Gulf Coast fisherman have a November 1 deadline to opt out of a global class-action settlement. The $7.8 billion settlement has preliminary court approval, with final approval possible as soon as November 8.
