JOBS Act
As discussions surrounding the JOBS Act, signed into law by President Barack Obama on April 5, 2012, continue, lawyers in our Corporate & Securities and Investment Management practices are weighing in with client alerts and comments to the press.
Lawyers in the firm's investment management practice have discussed the potential impact of the legislation on private placements. David Matteson, a partner in the firm's Chicago office, also authored an article in Futures magazine, describing the legislation as a "gift from Congress ... that will allow private funds (such as commodity pools) to advertise and use the Internet to find investors."
Meanwhile, Troy Calkins, a partner in the firm's Chicago office, and Luc Attlan, an associate in the firm's Chicago office, discuss the impact the JOBS Act will have on the capital raising process.
