Heather Perkins in Denver Business Journal Q&A on Women in Firm Leadership

The Denver Business Journal featured Faegre Baker Daniels partner Heather Perkins in a Q&A segment focused on women in leadership roles at top Denver law firms. As leader of the firm's Denver office, Perkins talked about obstacles women face in the legal industry as well as steps law firms can take to empower women to take on leadership roles. "Firms must recognize a wide range of contributions in considering leadership candidates — not just a large book of business. Firms should also consider contributions to training and development and the life of the firm and community," Perkins said.

"I'm proud of our representation of women in leadership, with women in 26 percent of our management board seats and 38 percent of our group leader positions," Perkins said referring to Faegre Baker Daniels. She also noted the importance of the Women's Forum for Achievement – a firm sponsored professional development and networking forum that provides a platform for women lawyers to build relationships, create business opportunities, increase professional advancement and achieve long-term success.
