The 2018 EEO-1 Survey Is Open – But Only For Component 1 Data
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) survey through which to file the annual Employer Information Report EEO-1 (EEO-1 Report) is now open for 2018. However, the current EEO-1 online portal will only be accepting Component 1 data. The deadline to file the EEO-1 Report with the required Component 1 data is May 31.
As previously reported, a U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia decision issued March 4, 2019 lifted the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) stay and ordered employers to report their employees’ W-2 wage information and total hours worked in 12 pay bands by gender, race and ethnicity on the new Component 2 of the EEO-1 Report.
The EEOC reports that it is working on next steps in light of the court’s decision on the collection of pay data. Accordingly, we will continue to monitor and report developments on the submission of Component 2 pay data.
