National Public Radio Quotes Jessica Abrahams on Paycheck Protection Program Eligibility
In the article, “Trump Administration to Planned Parenthood: Return Coronavirus Relief Funds,” National Public Radio spoke with government contracts team leader Jessica Abrahams about Paycheck Protection Program eligibility.
NPR reports that the Trump Administration is asking local Planned Parenthood affiliates around the U.S. to return millions of dollars in loans received through the federal government’s coronavirus relief package. The publication reports that the administration and several senators also are calling on Planned Parenthood affiliates to return funds distributed through the Paycheck Protection Program, claiming that the organization’s affiliates have too many employees nationwide to be eligible under the program's rules.
Abrahams commented on the uncertainty of the eligibility requirements under the Paycheck Protection Program. “They keep changing the rules,” Abrahams said. “So entities that qualified three weeks ago may not qualify today. There's a lot of confusion, a lot of concern.”
