Libby Baney Comments on Virtual Pharmacies in Real Simple

Real Simple spoke to government and regulatory partner Libby Baney, senior advisor to the Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies, about considerations for Americans who fill prescriptions through virtual pharmacies.

According to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, an estimated 95% of online pharmacies are operating illegally, explained Baney. “Most consumers think that if a pharmacy is near the top of the search results, it must be legitimate,” she said. “But that’s just the algorithm working.”
