Sylvia Bokyung St. Clair Comments on Implementing Performance Improvement Plans in SHRM

Labor and employment associate Sylvia Bokyung St. Clair spoke with SHRM in “When to Turn to PIPs and When to Skip Them” on when to terminate instead of placing an employee on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). The article covers reasons for skipping a PIP, as well as what warrants immediate termination.

St. Clair said if an employer has decided to terminate an employee, a PIP should not take the place of a termination.
