Chase Heltzel partners with health care and life sciences industry clients to navigate state and federal policy. He is a skilled research and public policy professional who is prepared to provide clarity on complex clinical, scientific and public health subject matter.
Health Care Consulting Experience
Chase excels at helping clients understand regulatory developments from health care agencies including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Previously, he was a senior health care policy consultant for KPMG, where he provided strategic support for the implementation of several major health care programs across the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). He acted as an adviser and key subject matter professional in policy areas such as drug pricing, health care coverage and reimbursement, program integrity, and FDA regulatory affairs. As a consultant at Huron, Chase developed skills in Medicare coverage analysis, clinical research regulatory affairs and provider billing compliance.
Biopharma Experience
Chase previously spent multiple years performing academic laboratory research in drug discovery and computational immunology, and supporting early-phase biologic development for biopharma clients at a contract research organization (CRO). He is passionate about supporting precision medicine initiatives that provide patients with access to the best possible care. With a technical background in the drug development and clinical research space, Chase provides clients with unique know-how to navigate challenges at the intersection of FDA and CMS regulations.
Personal Interests
In his free time, Chase enjoys spending time outdoors and in nature. He loves tending to his garden, raising chickens, micromanaging his koi pond and cooking for his family using food grown at home. He is a life-long Virginia native and enjoys hiking the Shenandoah and the virtues of a quality ham biscuit.
