Abbey M. Hernandez

Her extensive experience in drafting major briefs and pleadings, drafting discovery, taking and defending depositions, performing extensive legal research, and developing strategic planning in various practice areas make Abbey a valuable asset to clients. 

Abbey is also very involved in Faegre Drinker’s Diversity Collective, serving as both the Dallas office lead and a steering committee member of the firm’s Latino Associates Group. 

Prior Experience

In law school, Abbey served as a student attorney for Emory University School of Law’s International Humanitarian Law Clinic, where her research focused on the legality of autonomous weapons. She participated in speaking engagements at both NATO and the Marine Corps University, advising the organizations on the legality of new and emerging technologies in armed conflict, including artificial intelligence, cyberwarfare and hypersonic weapons.

Personal Interests 

Outside of work, Abbey enjoys spending time with her husband and her beagle Kona, playing tennis and golf, indoor cycling, and baking sourdough bread. She also loves traveling to new places. Currently, Abbey and her husband are making their way through all of the U.S. national parks.
