Jennifer M. Labus

Associate

Overview

Jennifer Labus has extensive experience in a range of simple and complex matters and concentrates her practice on the defense of product liability, professional liability and mass tort matters in state and federal court.

Product Liability & Mass Torts

Jennifer is a litigator with significant trial experience, who has assisted in bringing several matters to verdict in high-stakes litigation where plaintiffs sought millions of dollars in damages. While Jennifer focuses on being trial-ready, she recognizes not all disputes are suited for the courtroom. She leverages her trial experience to strategically develop individualized plans specific to each client’s needs, increasing the likelihood of a successful resolution. Throughout her career, she has obtained favorable results for clients through all stages from pre-suit investigation through post-trial litigation.

Jennifer has extensive experience taking and defending depositions. She has participated in hundreds of depositions of all types of witnesses including plaintiffs and defendants as well as fact witnesses, treating physicians and retained experts. Jennifer has prepared many witnesses for both deposition and trial testimony, adeptly teaching them how to convey their testimony in the most effective and confident manner.

Prior to joining Faegre Drinker, Jennifer spent several years at a prominent litigation firm in Chicago, defending medical professionals and health care entities against malpractice claims. She utilizes her experience in this area to analyze and investigate claimed physical and financial injuries and rebut them when appropriate. Jennifer is especially skilled in attacking the causation and damages aspects of the claims she is involved in, which is critical for reaching a reasonable resolution out of court and for limiting issues left for a jury to decide.

Personal Interests

In her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and mentoring junior lawyers and law students. She is especially passionate about training new lawyers to be effective litigators utilizing her own experience dating back to her undergraduate mock trial days.
