Customs & International Trade
Yeonjoo thrives on ensuring compliance and strategic trade solutions. She leverages her background as an in-house trade compliance analyst for her clients. She is also a licensed U.S. customs broker, and in addition to her fluency in Korean, Yeonjoo brings her keen understanding of the global trade landscape. She contributes to customs and trade teams that develop strategies to minimize duties, maximize compliance, and help foster uninterrupted supply chains and seamless cross-border transactions. Yeonjoo supports clients on issues related to import valuation, tariff classification, free-trade agreements, country of origin determination, and marking and value reconciliation programs.
Prior Experience
During law school, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Claire R. Kelly at the U.S. Court of International Trade. As a law clerk at a boutique trade law firm in Chicago, Yeonjoo also prepared ruling requests, protests, and research memos for trials at the Court of International Trade. Prior to law school, Yeonjoo was a trade compliance analyst for a large, privately held medical manufacturer and distributer. As an in-house trade analyst, she supported various business divisions in identifying duty savings opportunities, managed customs reconciliation programs, and monitored import entries for compliance.
Personal Interests
In her free time, Yeonjoo enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
