Overview

For more than 20 years, Glenn Reitman has been representing U.S. and international lenders and borrowers in structuring, negotiating and documenting finance transactions, with a focus on commercial, real estate, and energy projects and structured financing, including investments and M&A in the commodities, health care, insurance and energy sectors.

Finance & Restructuring

Glenn has a diverse finance practice that encompasses maritime, private equity, venture capital, real estate project and stadium, and Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) finance, as well as leveraged buyouts, structured products, loan workouts, restructurings, recapitalizations and reorganizations.

He focuses on representing financial institutions, commodity trading firms, and public and private borrowers and lenders in secured lending transactions, project finance, commodity trade finance, asset securitization, loan sale transactions, unitranche loans, loan auctions, workouts and foreclosures, as well as structuring, negotiating and documenting derivatives transactions with respect to commodities and interest rates.

Energy Finance

Glenn’s upstream oil and gas finance experience includes reserve-base lending (RBL), asset-based lending (ABL), term loans, intercreditor agreements, first and second lien structures, and large corporate revolvers. His midstream experience includes financings of gathering systems, saltwater and other water systems, and pipeline systems. His downstream experience includes marketing companies, maritime and transportation companies, and pipeline and terminal developers and operators.

Glenn also focuses on the carbon market; liquefied natural gas (LNG); and green, blue and gray hydrogen projects. His experience covers all aspects of the investment and development chain from venture capital and startup of operations to market entry and sale of commodities.

Glenn represents banks and borrowers in maritime transactions, including construction contracts, financings, acquisitions, sale and purchase of vessels, complex time and bareboat charters, and registration of vessels under the flags of Panama, United States, Vanuatu and other jurisdictions.

Glenn's real estate finance experience includes acquisition financing, construction financing, and pre-development and bridge financings.

  • Bank of Texas (BOK Financial) in commercial development loans to several major retail developers in Houston
  • Amegy Bank as lead arranger and administrative agent of a syndicate of U.S. banks in the financing of the Houston Dynamo Stadium construction

  • Comerica Bank in a $35 million construction loan to a multifamily developer
  • A private equity-led syndicate of lenders in a $150 million acquisition term loan secured by 11 U.S. locations

In his free time, Glenn enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, reading, and motivating his dog Kenny to strive to become a happy, confident and goal-oriented Labrador.
