Emily R. Summers

Overview

Emily Summers advises clients on immigration compliance matters including I-9 and E-Verify regulations and counsels employers in the development of immigration policies. Emily prepares and files non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and labor certification applications with the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of State. Emily also has experience representing individuals in adjustment of status, immigrant visa and naturalization applications and interviews.

Prior Experience

Before joining Faegre Drinker, Emily worked as an associate with an immigration law firm in Chicago where she represented corporations, small businesses, hospitals, non-profits and individuals and families in immigration matters. She regularly guided clients through the employment-based permanent residency process, and advised clients on non-immigrant visa issues pertaining to H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-2, J-1 and F-1 visas, among others.

During law school Emily assisted immigration legal clinic clients with Special Immigrant Juvenile and Temporary Protected Status petitions as well as guardianship and other family law matters.
