Overview

Josiah Young is a commercial litigator and appellate advocate. He focuses on representing clients in class actions, franchise litigation and appeals.

Class Actions

Josiah defends clients in class actions, with a focus on food and beverage labeling and pet food labeling litigation. He pairs zealous advocacy with practical counseling to help clients navigate the highly litigious environment for these claims. He also advises manufacturers, distributors and retailers on compliance with FDA labeling regulations and offers industry updates as a contributor to Faegre Drinker’s Bite-Sized Legal food webinar series.

Franchise Litigation

Josiah represents franchisors in franchise disputes involving their intellectual property, contractual rights or a variety of business torts. Josiah helps clients find creative ways to advance their goals and protect their brand.

Appeals

Josiah is an appellate advocate who represents clients in state and federal court.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining Faegre Drinker, Josiah served as a law clerk to Justice G. Barry Anderson of the Minnesota Supreme Court. He also worked on a variety of civil and criminal appeals as a law clerk in a state Office of the Solicitor General, and he is a member of the Eighth Circuit Bar Association and Minnesota Supreme Court Historical Society.

Personal Interests

In his spare time, Josiah enjoys being tackled by his three- and one-year-old children, hiking at Lake Superior’s North Shore, water skiing in Minnesota’s 14,000 lakes, playing board games, and cooking. He has a black belt in Taekwondo.
